The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurses (Alcohol and Other Drugs Service/Drug Alcohol Brief Intervention Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Deliver expert assessment, treatment, and referrals within hospital and community settings
  • Provide counselling and lead group programs supporting recovery
  • Advise on withdrawal management and pharmacotherapy options
  • Collaborate with Emergency Department and medical wards on brief interventions
  • Engage families, carers, and stakeholders through community forums

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
    Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
  • A graduate certificate or greater within a relevant specialty area is highly desirable.
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time (one full time position)
  • Temporary part time (two positions up to six months with possibility of extension, up to 64 hrs p.f)
  • Base salary ranging from $107 960 - $115 604 per annum, $54.44 - $58.30 per hour
