The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Psychologist (Head to Health Kids) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provide an efficient and responsive mental health Psychology service within identified models of care and in accordance with professional, ethical and National Mental Health standards
  • Utilise knowledge of Psychology theories and frameworks in the delivery of clinical psychology services to children under 12 years, including assessment, diagnosis and treatment
  • Apply professional judgement to facilitate effective clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence across multiple clinical areas
  • Provide clinical practice and operational supervision to students and less experienced staff

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A tertiary degree in Psychology
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Driver's Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time
  • Base salary ranging from $79 051 - $116 189 per annum

Gold Coast Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS) is a part of the Mental Health and Specialist Services (MHSS) Division. Health Kids-Queensland Gold Coast (H2HK-Q Gold Coast) is a multi-disciplinary, multi-specialty service within the Gold Coast Child and Youth Mental Health Services that delivers child centred and family focused services driven by a strength focused culture in line with the Whole Child Approach. H2HK-Q Gold Coast will provide a seamless service for children under 12 years experiencing mental health and wellbeing difficulties that effectively integrates primary, secondary, and tertiary services by working in partnership across all sectors.
