The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurses (Mental Health - Acute Care Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide comprehensive care to consumers with an acute mental health issue including mental health risk assessment and risk management plans
- Provision of care delivery in a variety of hospital and community settings
- Utilise clinical skills commensurate to individual level of experience
- Contribute to the clinical education of students and other less experienced staff in consultation with the support of senior clinical staff
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
- A graduate certificate or greater within a relevant specialty area is highly desirable
- A post graduate qualification within a relevant specialty is highly desirable
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time, permanent part time (several positions, hours negotiable)
- Base salary ranging from $107 960 - $115 604 per annum, $54.44 - $58.30 per hour
About Us
The Acute Care Treatment Team (ACT) provide 24 hour, 7 day a week specialist mental health care service. This team's role is to be the first point of contact for the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Services Mental Health Service (GCHHS) to provide education, support, information, advice and referral. ACT is a mobile assertive outreach crisis response team that offers a range of short-term options tailored to meet individual needs in the community which may also include acute care in the immediate post discharge phase of an inpatient admission. ACT is committed to providing a service that is empathic, courteous and able to develop positive relationships with people in crisis, founded on hope and recovery.
