The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist/Psychologist/Social Worker - Senior (Older Persons Mental Health Community) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide efficient, responsive and recovery-orientated mental health care in a variety of hospital and community settings
- Work collaboratively with clinicians, multi-disciplinary staff, service providers and non-government organisations
- Manage a portfolio in a specialist area of interest and complete specific responsibilities relevant to the portfolio
- Provide high level discipline specific supervision to less experienced staff and students
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or Social Work
- AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapist and Psychologist only)
- Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (Social Worker only)
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Base salary ranging from $128 169 - $137 918 per annum

The Older Persons Mental Health Community Team service provides specialised, community-based multi-disciplinary services, including mental health assessment and treatment, for adults over the age of 65 years (>55 yr. for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Persons) who have a severe and complex mental illness, which is complicated by problems related to ageing.
