The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Senior Registrars / Fellows (Emergency Medicine) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Fulfil the accountabilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Health's core values
  • Provide appropriate evidenced-based clinical care and delegate the provision of clinical care to patients
  • Provide and allow for adequate communication to all stakeholders
  • Supervise training registrars and junior medical staff to ensure appropriate provision of care

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent recognised qualification
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine or have passed their Fellowship Written Examination and be eligible for Fellowship and registration
  • Completion of the IELTS exam (achieving a minimum score of 7)
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Temporary full time (multiple positions, up to 12 months with possibility of extension)
  • Base salary ranging from $182 106 - $165 257 per annum

Gold Coast University Hospital Emergency Department is classified as a level 6 tertiary facility under the Clinical Services Capability Framework (CSCF) Version 3.1 as developed by the Queensland Department of Health. Robina Hospital provides Level 4 services under CSCF.
