The Role

An opportunity has become available for al Clinical Facilitator (Practice Development Nurse) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia. 

You will

  • Maintain and role model advanced person-focused, evidence-based care and education
  • Work collaboratively with the Nurse Educator, contributing educational leadership to build capacity and foster a culture of learning and develop / review teaching and learning resources
  • Use evidence-based research findings and experience to support clinical decision-making
  • Utilise electronic resources and databases associated with teaching and learning strategies

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

$107,960 - $115,604 per annum (permanent full time)

$4,138.10 - $4,431.10 per fortnight (permanent full time)

About Us

The Newborn Care Unit (NCU) at Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) is part of Women, Newborn and Children's Health (WNCH) and is comprised of a 12-cot Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a 24-cot Special Care Nursery (SCN) with an 8-cot High Dependency Unit (HDU).

Babies requiring cardiac surgery or with complex surgical conditions are managed at Mater Mother's or Queensland Children's Hospital. Neonatal Retrieval Emergency Service Southern Queensland (NeoRESQ) based at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in Brisbane coordinate and provide a neonatal emergency retrieval service.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) admits babies fulfilling Level 6 Queensland Clinical Services Capability Framework criteria which includes but is not limited to:

  • Extremely preterm infants from 23 weeks gestation
  • Parenteral Nutrition
  • Nitric Oxide therapy
  • Therapeutic cooling and Amplitude integrated electroencephalography (AEEG)
  • Neonatal surgical procedures
  • Invasive and non-invasive respiratory support including High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation.
