An opportunity has become available for a Maintenance Technical Officer to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Lead, coordinate and monitor all technical aspects of Building and Maintenance Services activities
- Manage and coordinate the delegated trade services staff
- Provide expert technical advice on operational and maintenance activities to provide corrective, statutory and preventative maintenance
- Provide high level technical advice to stakeholders and management in advancing the performance of all assets
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- While not mandatory, a relevant engineering qualification or Mechanical/Electrical trade qualification and ability to perform the role of Qualified Technical Person under the Electrical Safety Act 2002, would be well regarded
- Demonstrated high level technical knowledge and experience with maintaining and operating electrical networks (including qualifications), Emergency Generators, UPS systems, Gas supply networks, HVAC, chiller plants, Cooling towers, Medical gas systems, Steam systems, multi-site BMS, Nurse Call, Sterilising plant, Water quality management, Fire management systems and Passenger elevators
- Demonstrated technical problem-recognition, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience in managing a large infrastructure and asset base
- Demonstrated experience in infrastructure maintenance management in the healthcare sector.
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $136 035 - $145 990 per annum

Maintenance Services includes but is not limited to: electrical work, fire systems, water cooling, plumbing, heating ventilation and air conditioning, bed maintenance, backup power and garden maintenance.
