The Role

An opportunity has become available for two Enrolled Nurses Advanced Skill (Mental Health)

to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Participate in quality, service improvement and research activities to continually improve consumer safety and care
  • Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities
  • Liaise with consumers and their families, other health professionals, supervisors, students and researchers, as required to ensure quality service delivery
  • Assist allied health/staff visitor with co-facilitation of groups and facilitate groups as the group nurse

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Board (NMBA) approved qualification in medication administration. Completion of 519HLTEN A, B or C or 007HLTEN will be highly regarded
  • An Advanced Diploma qualification in relevant area of specialty is highly desirable
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

  • Permanent part time
  • Base salary ranging from $48.28 - $51.23 per hour

About Us

The Gold Coast Mental Health and Specialist Service provide a service that has integrated hospital and community health services and specialist drug and alcohol services.

The Jasmin Acute Unit which is located at Robina Hospital and is designed to provide for a safe and therapeutic environment in the provision of specialised acute inpatient service for consumers between 26– 65 years.

The Wattle Child and Youth Inpatient Unit at Robina Hospital provides 4-hour care for children and adolescents who are suffering from emotional or behavioural disturbances.  Clients re admitted to the 8-bed unit for the treatment of acute mental illnesses, comprehensive assessments or for planned psychotherapy.
