The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Team Leader (Mental Health – Access) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provide efficient and responsive mental health care, utilising advanced level of knowledge, and skills in the area of clinical practice
  • Develop a dynamic, flexible, resilient and skilled workforce
  • Coordinate, formulate and direct policies relating to the provision of mental health care or disciplinary specific specialty services which includes integration of consumer care across the continuum of care
  • Lead the integration of the key objectives from the Strategic/Operational plans into service delivery

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology Social Work or Speech Pathology
  • AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapist/Psychologist only)
  • Driver Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Temporary full time (11 months with the possibility of extension)
  • Base salary ranging from $5557.50 - $5798.90 per fortnight

Prevention and early intervention strategies are important in interrupting the development of severe mental health problems and disorders in childhood. The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) Access Team is a community based service for children and young people aged 0-18 years and their families in the Gold Coast region who are experiencing severe / complex psychological, emotional and/or behavioural problems.
