The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Protective Services Supervisors to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Prevent and/or reduce aggressive/disruptive behaviour by employing appropriate verbal intervention strategies aimed at promoting a safe environment for all
- Facilitate training for Security Officers in security processes
- Develop relationships and maintain liaison with clinical and operational stakeholder groups
- Supervise/conduct traffic and parking control duties, assist with public enquiries, provide site directions/assistance for patients, visitors, public, contractors and staff etc
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- While not mandatory, possession of a current Security Officer License under the Security Providers Act and/or completion of the following courses/programs would be well regarded:
- Queensland Health Certificate Level III Aggressive Behaviour Management Course.
- Certificate IV training programs: Security and Risk Management, Training and Evaluation and Frontline Management.
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time (four positions)
- Base salary ranging from $73 533 - $80 423 per annum
