The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Registered Nurse (Surgical) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Ensure both clinical practice and professional standards are identified and maintained
• Assist in the provision of educational training and act as a role model
• Actively seek opportunities to expand skills and knowledge
• Formulate, Implement and evaluate objectives, policies and procedures

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Temporary full time; Temporary part time (several positions, 6-month contracts with possibility of extensions)
• Base salary ranging from $3 171.90 - $4 068.50 per fortnight, $41.73 - $53.53 per hour

About Us

The Surgical Specialties Unit is a 28 Bed Unit that specialises in the delivery of Urology, Gynaecology, Gynae-oncology, Major Head & Neck surgery as well as General ENT, Maxillo-Facial and Plastics care. Patient numbers undergoing Major Head and Neck Surgery and Gynae-Oncology surgery continue to grow. Ongoing growth of the Plastic service also continues including major flap reconstructions. These services continue to increase the acuity of the patients. Working with the above specialties will allow the development of new skills while working in a great team environment.
