The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Dental Assistants to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provide skilled assistance in four-handed dentistry, including retraction and evacuation
  • Manage patient triaging and handle high workloads in community and school settings when needed
  • Identify and troubleshoot minor equipment issues, referring repairs accurately
  • Support administrative tasks related to Dental Assistant duties
  • Follow strict infection control protocols for cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing instruments, and disposing of waste

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Certificate III in Sterilisation and/or Dental Assisting or relevant higher current qualification
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Driver licence
  • Working with children check
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time, temporary full time and temporary part-time (one permanent full-time position, several temporary positions, hours negotiable up to 6 months with the possibility of extension)
  • Base salary ranging from $68 471 - $71 983 per annum, $34.53 - $36.30 per hour
