The Occupational Therapy service provides a variety of clinical practice across the emergency, acute, rehabilitation and outpatient areas of the Gold Coast University Hospital (Southport) and Robina Hospital. Occupational Therapists also work within multidisciplinary teams in Community Health, Community Rehabilitation, Transition Care Programme, Child Development Service, Home Care and Allied Health Service, Palliative Care and in project areas of Persistent Pain Service and Geriatric Evaluation and Management in the Home (GEMiTH).

Requirements for the role:

  • The possession of a tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised tertiary institution and registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA) is a requirement for this role
  • It is a condition of employment in this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough) and hepatitis B
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a government vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required
  • This position is required to work throughout the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service
  • The incumbent of this position is required to be available to take part in a roster across 7 days including on call
