About Acute Care Team (ACT) 

You will provide expert assessment and care planning for consumers presenting with acute mental health needs across a variety of settings.

The Acute Care Treatment Teams within mental health primary roles include intake, crisis intervention, assessment, screening admissions to public adult acute psychiatric inpatient services, intensive community based treatment and supplementary out-of-hours treatment and support.

ACT also provides in reach into Emergency Departments at both the Gold Coast and Robina Hospitals. This service provides triage, consultation, assessment and referral of clients presenting to the Emergency Department with mental health issues.

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
  • A graduate certificate or greater within a relevant specialty area is highly desirable
  • Driver Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)
