Gladstone Hospital is a 70-bed facility providing a comprehensive array of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services. These include Emergency, General Medicine and Surgery, basic Orthopaedics, Clinical Investigation, Obstetrics, Maternity, Gynaecology, High Dependency and Coronary Care, Palliative Care, Medical Imaging, Pathology, and Paediatrics. The hospital also offers services in Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Oral Health, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Speech Pathology, and community outreach programs. Additionally, there is a Primary Health Care Centre located in Boyne Valley. Gladstone Hospital employs approximately 282 full-time equivalent staff who deliver care across Acute, Community, and Primary care settings.
About the role:
This unique opportunity is for a specialist GP with Rural Generalist recognition to work in a busy level 3 obstetric unit alongside specialist obstetricians. The Rural Generalist (Obstetrics) will provide Obstetrics and Gynaecology services to Gladstone and Banana Shire hospitals, including expert care at Gladstone Hospital and support to other Central Queensland facilities via Outreach or Telehealth Clinics in Biloela, Moura, Theodore, and Baralaba.
About you:
- Mandatory qualification/s: MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRANZCOG) (advanced).
- While not mandatory, the following qualifications would be well regarded:
- General Practice Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or
- Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or
- Evidence of acceptance as an Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) or Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) trainee.
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Current Obstetric Emergency Management, RANZCOG FSE accreditation and Advanced Neo Resuscitation training.

Total remuneration value of up to $446,518 p.a.is comprised of:
- $204,206 - $244,248 p.a. (L18 – L25)
- $176,802 - $204,206 p.a. (L13 – L18)
- $176,802 - $182,330 p.a. (L13 – L14)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
