About us:

Gladstone Hospital is a 79-bed hospital and offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, general medicine and surgery, basic orthopaedic, clinical investigation, obstetrics, maternity, gynaecology, high dependency and coronary care, palliative care, neonatal nursery, medical imaging, pathology, and paediatrics. Gladstone Hospital has approximately 282 full time equivalent staff, delivering services across acute, community and primary care.

About the role:

The Senior Social Worker works as a member of the Gladstone and Banana Allied Health Team(s) providing comprehensive, effective, and efficient Social Work services to stakeholders/customers of CQ Health, and is responsible for leading clinical social work services predominately in the area of palliative care, but with scope to provide leadership across other clinical areas as required. 

  • Address emergent priority Social Work service issues and progress patient related activity.

About you:

To be eligible for this role the mandatory qualification is - Possession of a degree qualification in Social Work from a recognised tertiary institution and eligibility for professional membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.

Non-mandatory qualifications/requirements - While not mandatory, post graduate qualifications in palliative care are highly desirable.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $76,387 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $62.75 - $67.53 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
