Provide early leadership, support and direction to the Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse, and other non-registered nursing personnel. About us:

The Gladstone Emergency Department is a 24-hour public department providing initial treatment for all, definitive care for many; and resuscitation and stabilization of emergencies or unwell patients prior to transfer to tertiary centres or admission to Gladstone Hospital.

About the role:

A Nurse Grade 6 (1) is a Registered Nurse who provides nursing services in health service settings and is responsible for a portfolio with a focus on clinical care/leadership, management, education and/or research. The activities required of roles at this level are predominantly clinical in nature, but also provide support to a Nurse Grade 7 or above in management activities.

  • Provide clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education, and research in conjunction with the Nurse Grade 7 and Nurse Grade 6 (2).
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision, clinical education, and up-skilling to nurses to achieve a skilled capable workforce in line with professional workforce standards.

About you:

  • Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • A relevant postgraduate certificate or post graduate diploma is an expectation of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $131,900 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
