About us:

The Nurse-Led Walk in Clinic will provide assessment, treatment and advice to adults and children (aged over 2 years) for non-life-threatening injuries and illness, as well as trauma-informed, women-focused services, 7 days a week from 8am to 10pm. The service model aims to improve long-term health outcomes and improved access to care in the community, reducing demand on hospitals. Services will be provided free of charge.

About the role:

The Fire, Safety and Security Officer is responsible for providing facility, building and asset security, including protecting the personal safety of patients, staff, visitors, and the general public whilst on health services land. This is achieved by providing regular monitoring of the environment and emergency response services.

  • Conduct both vehicle mounted and foot patrols of all internal and external areas of the Gladstone Hospital facilities to ensure a safe and secure environment for all staff, visitors, and patients.
  • Develop relationships with clinical and operational teams through effective communication and consultation in the development of appropriate support and or intervention strategies.

About you:

Non-mandatory qualifications/requirements: While not mandatory, a Certificate II in Security Operations (or equivalent) qualification would be well regarded.

  • Ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices, including workplace health and safety, employee equity, anti-discrimination, and ethical behaviours.
  • Demonstrated successful communication, oral and written (both hard copy and electronic) skills relevant to the position, including conflict resolution skills.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $59,448 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $34.02 - $35.66 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
