About us:

The Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) operates a network model for Obstetrics and Gynaecology services. This position will be required to provide services at Rockhampton Hospital and community clinics, Gladstone Hospital and Emerald Hospital, as well as visits to rural facilities including Woorabinda Multipurpose Health Service, Biloela Hospital and Capricorn Coast Hospital and other facilities as services are expanded. 

Other CQHHS facilities include: Biloela and Moura Hospitals, Theodore, Woorabinda, Baralaba, Mount Morgan, Springsure and Blackwater Multipurpose Health Services. 

About the role:

The position of Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist is to assist the Clinical Directors in:

  • Ensuring that Specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology services provided by CQHHS are of the highest standard and delivered in an efficient and effective manner given available resources.
  • The education and supervision of trainees, junior medical staff, medical students, Midwives, and other Health Practitioners including Nursing staff.
  • The day-to-day management of Obstetrics and Gynaecology services including active participation in patient safety, clinical audit, investigation and management of adverse clinical incidents and complaints, research, and service planning activities.

The provision of Obstetrics and Gynaecology services for CQ Health is provided as one service, multiple sites.  In order to meet service needs the Specialist will be required to provide clinical services at any facility within the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, in line with the clinical services capability of the that facility.

About you:

  • MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
    • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). In general, this will require Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG).
    • Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program of appropriate College.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $528,432 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A salary rate between $210,332 - $244,313 p.a. (L18-L24)
  • A salary rate between $251,527 - $266,677 p.a. (L25-L27)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
