About us:

Our Destination 2030 strategy will transform Gladstone Hospital into a hub for emergency care, inpatient services, and day surgeries, enhancing outreach for Gladstone and Banana rural communities.

Operational Services manages catering, housekeeping, ward support, and safety for the hospital, including patient assistance, waste removal, and specialized tasks like orthopaedic casting and operating theatre support.

About the role:

Provide quality environmental cleaning, catering and linen services to the clients of the Gladstone Hospital facility. To support our patients, clients, families, and communities to take care of themselves and each other. Work with our partners to connect our services and operate safely and sustainably every day.

About you:

  • While not mandatory, a relevant qualification in Health Support Services would be well regarded.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in equipment, products, standards, policies, and procedures related to Operational Services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in equipment, products, standards, policies, and procedures related to Operational Services.
  • Ability to work as a team member to achieve organisational goals.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and employees of the Hospital and Health Service.
  • Ability to carry out duties with a minimum of supervision, to set realistic work priorities, have good organisational skills and to meet deadlines.

What we offer:

  • An hourly rate between $39.05 - $41.66 p.h. (incl 25% casual loading)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
