About us:
Gladstone Hospital is a 70-bed hospital and offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, general medicine and surgery, basic orthopaedic, clinical investigation, obstetrics, maternity, gynaecology, high dependency and coronary care, palliative care, medical imaging, pathology, and paediatrics.
About the role:
Assist the Director in ensuring that emergency medical services provided by CQ Health at Gladstone Hospital are cost effective, reliable, and customer focused. In particular, the Senior Medical Officers and Staff Specialists provide key assistance in developing and sustaining an appropriate specialist training program for Emergency Medicine.
About you:
Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist:
- MBBS or equivalent to be eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Advanced Paediatric Life Support certification.
- Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine or equivalent specialist qualification to enable registration as a Specialist in Emergency Medicine with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
Senior Medical Officer:
- MBBS or equivalent to be eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Applicants who have completed their ACEM Fellowship Written examination and expect to meet the essential requirements of this position within the next six months.
- Current ALS or Advanced Paediatric Life Support certification.

Salary information:
Total remuneration value of up to $603,602 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary rate between $182,106 - $187,801 p.a. (L13-L14)
- A salary rate between $182,106 - $210,332 p.a. (L13-L18)
- A salary rate between $210,332 - $244,313 p.a. (L18-L24)
- A salary rate between $210,332 - $251,527 p.a. (L18-L25)
- A salary rate between $251,527 - $266,677 p.a. (L25-L27)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
