The Emergency Department Business Practice Improvement Officer is a leadership and analysis role focused on improving the quality of data collected in the Emergency Department. Monitor, review, and analyse ED activity data to ensure it meets reporting requirements and identify opportunities for improvement in patient access and flow within CQ Health.

Our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy1 will see Gladstone Hospital developed as a center for emergency care, medical inpatient and day surgery excellence. This will optimise outreach services to deliver care closer to home in the Gladstone and Banana rural communities.
About the role:
The Gladstone Emergency Department (ED) Business Practice Improvement Officer (BPIO) is responsible for monitoring, reviewing and improving the quality of health activity data collected in the Emergency with the aim of assuring quality health information is reported in line with statewide and local ED key-performance index (KPI) requirements.
This role is responsible for providing high level technical expertise, support and training to users of Emergency Department Information Systems (EDIS) and the facilitation and coordination of all data management, system management, training and access functions in relation to Emergency Department Information Systems, whilst meeting legislative requirements and complying with Commonwealth and State data collection requirements.
About you:
- While not mandatory, the following would be well regarded:
- Crystal Developers qualification and license
- Experience in Project Management
- Experience in Business Analytics, Information System Management and Emergency Department business processes.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $104,841 is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $53.24 - $57.92 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
