About us:

The Perioperative Unit is located in West Wing of the Gladstone Hospital. The Gladstone Hospital has two operating rooms and a procedure room.  Services include elective and emergency surgery, Day Surgery, Pre-Anaesthetic Clinic, and Central Sterilising Services Department (CSSD). The Perioperative Unit provides clinical care through the development and maintenance of relevant and proven patient care standards involving ongoing research in clinical applications. The CSSD unit is located in Block 2 of Gladstone hospital and has undergone a recent refurbishment.

About the role:

A Nurse Grade 5 holding or working towards a Cert 3 in Sterilisation Services, is a Registered Nurse (RN) who:

  1. Provides nursing services within health service settings; and
  2. Demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by registration requirements, NMBA standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation, and context of care.
  3. Holds, or is willing to work towards, a Certificate 3 in Sterilisation Services.

About you:

  • Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
    • The successful applicant must have or be working towards a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services.
  • Proven ability to provide clinical education and support and demonstrate own ongoing professional development.
  • Proven ability to critically think in relation to planning and responding to a potentially rapidly changing environment regarding safe patient centred care.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $48,442 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $41.73 - $53.53 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
