About us:
The Perioperative Unit located in block seven in the West Wing of Gladstone Hospital. The Gladstone Hospital has two operating rooms and a procedure room. Services include Elective and Emergency Surgery, Day Surgery, Pre-Anaesthetic Clinic, and Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD). The Perioperative Unit provides clinical care through the development and maintenance of relevant and proven patient care standards involving ongoing research in clinical applications.
Day Surgery Unit (DSU) services the operating theatres and is staffed from 6.45am in the morning until 7pm at night to safely discharge the patients. There are 3 beds and 5 chairs in the unit and are located close to the Recovery Unit.
About the role:
The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Nurse Grade 6 (1) who is accountable at an advanced level for the coordination of clinical practice delivered in the Day Surgery Unit within the Perioperative Unit. The incumbent will provide leadership and support to Nursing and Medical staff and supports the delivery of competent, best practice quality nursing care, while working in collaboration with the line manager of the unit.
The DSU Clinical Nurse will be responsible for the daily management of the Day Surgery Unit to deliver efficient and effective outcomes.
About you:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
- Well-developed ability to identify opportunities for improvement and a demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Well-developed clinical knowledge and problem-solving skills in a high-quality client orientated health service delivery model.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $131,900 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
