About us:
The Women and Newborn Unit is composed of Maternity and Gynaecology inpatient services, Midwifery Group Practice (MGP), Extended Midwifery Services (EMS), and a Neonatal Nursery. The unit is women and family centred care, reflecting the needs of each woman within a safe and sustainable quality system. All women have access to evidenced based, culturally competent maternity care in a range of settings close to where they live. Appropriately trained and qualified health professionals provide maternity care to women of Gladstone and surrounds.
About the role:
The Registered Midwife (RM) supports excellence in both midwifery/nursing care and patient outcomes. The Registered Midwife is a competent clinician who provides direct midwifery and nursing care with clinical competence and capability, optimising person-centred care and assisting the perinatal journey of women and their families and access to care services. The registered midwife/nurse works in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team to provide person and women family centred, quality, safe patient care.
About you:
- Current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
- An understanding of the importance of quality, safety and risk in a healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated ability in working within a Midwifery team in a multidisciplinary environment utilising the principles of contemporary human, material, and financial resource management.
- Demonstrate high level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally and sensitively with all levels of staff, patients and general public.
- Demonstrated commitment to participating in professional development activities.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $10,092 is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $41.73 - $53.53 p.h.
- An hourly rate between $51.33 - $65.84 p.h. (incl 25% casual loading)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
