About us:
Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to residents of Gladstone, Capricorn Coast, Rockhampton, Central Highlands and Banana areas (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000) with services located in each area.
The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services works in collaboration with the local hospitals, other mental health and alcohol and other drugs teams, as well as primary health, community, and private sector providers to reduce the symptoms of mental illness and facilitate recovery.
About the role:
Utilise personal lived experience of mental illness to model recovery strategies under general direction, to facilitate the development, planning and delivery of support services to consumers of the mental health service.
About you:
Under Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, it is a genuine occupational requirement of these positions to have a personal lived experience of caring for someone with a lived experience of mental illness and recovery (public or private).
- Applicants who hold or are working towards a Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Experience working within a public mental health service or the NGO sector is highly desirable.
- An ability to advocate for the consumer perspective to identify service improvement.
- An ability to plan, deliver and evaluate psycho education and groups to mental health service consumers.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $57,088 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $45.81 - $50.46 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
