About us:

Gladstone Hospital provides a range of services to Gladstone and the Banana region. A new emergency department was recently opened which doubled the department's current capacity. Our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy will see Gladstone Hospital developed as a centre for emergency care, medical inpatient, and day surgery excellence. This will optimise outreach services to deliver care closer to home in the Gladstone and Banana rural communities.

About the role:

The Senior Administration Support Officer reports to the Director of Corporate Services providing high level professional and confidential support to the Director of Medical Services Gladstone. Assist the Director of Medical Services ensuring efficient and effective administrative support in the management and recruitment of medical staff in accordance with hospital requirements and the relevant Award provisions. The position will provide secretarial and administrative support whilst maintaining confidentiality in Medical Administration.

About you:

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of hospital staff, the public and ability to deal with sensitive and confidential matters appropriately.
  • Demonstrated secretarial, clerical, and administrative skills to a high standard in terms of both speed and accuracy to enable completion of daily work.
  • Ability to set realistic work goals and establish work priorities appropriate to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Ability to liaise effectively in a support role and work as an effective team member, to be self-sufficient and work with minimal supervision.
  • Sound knowledge of human resource management principles and practices especially in relation to the recruitment and retention of medical staff.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $114,177 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $45.81 - $50.46 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
