These include and are not limited to leadership, role modelling and advocating for high standards of care, educating and quality improvement initiatives. Once endorsed, you will contribute to the expanding role within the Emergency Department, including 7 day a week Led fast track service.

It plays a vital role in the hospital's overall healthcare delivery, supporting the community's health needs with a focus on quick response and comprehensive emergency services.

About the role:

The Nurse Practitioner Candidate (NPC) is a Nurse Grade 7 Registered Nurse who is working towards endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner by acquiring the expert knowledge base, complex decision-making skills, and clinical competencies for expanded autonomous practice. The Nurse Practitioner is an integral member of the health care team who practices in collaboration with other health professionals to access and manage patients within their clinical context using nursing knowledge and skills. The Nurse Practitioner Candidate contributes to the department, organisation and community through involvement in education, research, quality improvement, and professional leadership.

About you:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Heath Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • The Nurse practitioner Candidate is required to be a currently enrolled in a master of Nurse Practitioner program working towards endorsement with the Australian Heath Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • 4 years advance nursing practice (Clinical Nurse specialist and above) within a regional or tertiary Emergency Department.
  • Post Graduate qualification (Certificate or Diploma) in relevant speciality (Emergency/acute care).

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $43,213 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.85 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
