About us:

The Perioperative Unit is located in block seven in the West Wing of Gladstone Hospital. The Gladstone Hospital has two operating rooms and a procedure room.  Services include elective and emergency surgery, Day Surgery, Pre-Anaesthetic Clinic, and Central Sterilising Service Department. The Perioperative Unit provides clinical care through the development and maintenance of relevant and proven patient care standards involving ongoing research in clinical applications.

About the role:

  • Use nursing knowledge and skills to support and contribute to the delivery of patient/client/resident centred care and to gain support to address care needs that are outside scope of practice.
  • Respond and provide for the physical emotional, spiritual and cultural needs of patients/clients/residents within the health care environment.
  • Contribute to the development and review of care plans, in collaboration with the Registered Nurse and the patient.
  • Organise own workload to facilitate planned nursing care and advise Registered Nurse if workload is not being achieved or patient care needs exceed scope of practice to receive assistance from appropriate team members.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and reliable care is provided within the dynamic health environment of the unit.

About you:

  • Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to order, receive and maintain perioperative stock and consumables using S4HANA.
  • Experience working in a perioperative unit.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $4,539 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $35.92 - $38.12 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
