Are you a qualified Registered Nurse seeking a change of scenery? Our Central Sterilisation Service Department are seeking our ideal candidate to come onboard permanent part time.

You will maintain effective relationships with the multidisciplinary team, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks to support the functionality of the unit. It is the purpose of this role to demonstrate nursing competence in the provision of nursing care to perioperative patients in the role of anaesthetic Nurse, instrument Nurse, circulating Nurse, scope Nurse and recovery Nurse.

About us:

The Perioperative Unit is located in West Wing of the Gladstone Hospital. The Gladstone Hospital has two operating rooms and a procedure room. Services include elective and emergency surgery, Day Surgery, Pre-Anaesthetic Clinic, and Central Sterilisation Services Department (CSSD). The Perioperative Unit provides clinical care through the development and maintenance of relevant and proven patient care standards involving ongoing research in clinical applications. The CSSD unit is located in Block 2 of Gladstone hospital and has undergone a recent refurbishment.

About the role:

  • Provide nursing services within health service settings demonstrate competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by registration requirements, Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA) standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation, and context of care.
  • It is the purpose of this role to demonstrate nursing competence in the provision of nursing care to perioperative patients in the role of anaesthetic Nurse, instrument Nurse, circulating Nurse, scope Nurse and recovery Nurse.
  • The purpose of the role of Registered Nurse for Central Queensland Health (CQ Health) is to provide holistic person-centred care and practice within an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Practises independently and interdependently.
  • Assumes accountability and responsibility for own actions and delegation of care to Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing and healthcare workers.
  • Demonstrates evidence of increasing autonomy and exercises greater levels of professional judgement in the clinical environment as the employee moves from a beginning to an experienced practitioner.

About you:

Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • Certificate III in Sterilisation Services or willingness to acquire.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $50,992 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $41.73 - $53.53 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
