The Emergency Department at Gladstone Hospital is accredited for FACEM, FACRRM, and GP training. Registrars and Principal House Officers receive support from Emergency Department Consultants to ensure high-quality patient care and assist with their career development. As a regional ED, Gladstone Hospital handles around 36,500 patients each year, with about 25% being paediatric cases.

About us:
Gladstone Hospital is a 79-bed hospital and offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, general medicine and surgery, basic orthopaedic, clinical investigation, obstetrics, maternity, gynaecology, high dependency and coronary care, palliative care, neonatal nursery, medical imaging, pathology and paediatrics. Gladstone Hospital has approximately 282 full time equivalent staff delivering services across acute, community and primary care. Approximately 1600 surgical cases are performed in the two operating theatres. There is a 36-bed mixed General Surgical and Medical Ward and a four bed High Dependency Unit (HDU) where patients may be held pending retrieval, or for close observation not possible on the wards.
About the role:
Emergency Department is approved by the respective college for FACEM, FACRRM and GP training. Registrars and Principal House Officers will be supported by Emergency Department Consultants to not only deliver high quality care to patients but are assisted in career progression. Gladstone Hospital Emergency Department is a Regional ED which sees about 36,500 patients annually, including approximately 25% paediatric patients.
About you:
- MBBS or equivalent to enable registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) at Level 3 supervision.
- If qualifications were obtained outside Australia, the candidate must be eligible for registration with AHPRA with the appropriate supervision level and provide the following:
- Evidence of successful completion of IELTS or equivalent English Language test results within the last year.
- Evidence of successful completion AMC MCQ (part 1)
- Evidence of recency of clinical practice, supported by current
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is
- If qualifications were obtained outside Australia, the candidate must be eligible for registration with AHPRA with the appropriate supervision level and provide the following:

Salary information:
Total remuneration value of up to $169,083 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary rate between $125,808 - $145,865 p.a. (L4–L9)
- A salary rate between $125,808 - $138,571 p.a. (L4-L7)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
