About us:

Gladstone Hospital provides a range of services to the Gladstone and the Banana region. A new emergency department has been built which has doubled the department's current capacity. Our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy will see Gladstone Hospital developed as a centre for emergency care, medical inpatient and day surgery excellence. This will optimise outreach services to deliver care closer to home in the Gladstone and Banana rural communities. In October 2020 Queensland Health acquired the co-located private hospital to expand the service footprint of the Gladstone campus.  

About the role:

The purpose of this position is to provide leadership in the implementation and evaluation of a high-quality service to support the provision of both public and private health services for the Gladstone Hospital. This position will also provide professional support to all services across the campus and provide the liaison between the West and East wings to ensure that these services improve and maintain an excellent quality of health care service facilitation and deliver a positive patient experience.

About you:

  • While not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to consult and communicate with staff at all levels and the ability to negotiate with or influence others including advising/coaching Senior Managers.
  • Be a strong team player, dedicated to the success of the team.
  • Significant managerial ability, including the ability to supervise employees, set priorities, monitor workflow, develop local strategies, procedures and work practices and allocate resources.
  • Highly proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, with the ability to generate graphs and produce complex data tables and a good understanding of health information systems including S4HANA.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $131,052 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $53.24 - $57.92 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
