The Clinical Director leads and manages the medical team at Gladstone Hospital, ensuring high-quality, integrated services through effective coordination, service development, and teaching for sustainability. They provide strategic leadership, oversee medical staff education, and report to the Director of Medical Services. As services span multiple sites within CQHHS, the Medical Officer may work across various facilities as needed.

About us:

Gladstone Hospital is a level 3 facility which at present has 70 inpatient beds and offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, general medicine and surgery, basic orthopaedic, clinical investigation, obstetrics, maternity, gynaecology, high dependency and coronary care, palliative care, medical imaging, pathology and paediatrics.

About the role:

The Clinical Director, as a part of the clinical executive, leads and manages the medical team enabling high quality, contemporary services integrated within the clinical services framework of Gladstone Hospital. Liaison and coordination with other clinical departments is critical as is ongoing service development and teaching so as to provide for a sustainable service.

About you:

  • MBBS or equivalent to be eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Austral
    • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in General Medicine with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency. This will require Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in the specialty of General Medicine.
    • Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program of appropriate bodies is mandatory.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $566,378 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A salary rate between $251,527 - $266,677 p.a. (L25–L27)
  • A salary rate between $210,332 - $244,313 p.a. (L18-L24)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
