An exciting opportunity is currently available for an experienced Registrar or Principal House Officer to join the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Team at the Bundaberg Hospital within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. The Wide Bay area is arguably one of the most beautiful regions of Queensland. The Health Service stretches from Agnes Water in the North to Maryborough in the South and provides acute care services to a population of over 225,000 residents including several rural communities.

Your opportunity: 

  • This position description is general for all Principal House Officers (PHO's) in the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. Specific duties will vary dependent upon the clinical specialty and some will be negotiated with the relevant consultant, the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and the individual.  Each position is supervised by senior medical staff, although a reasonable degree of autonomy is expected.  All PHO's should provide leadership to junior residents working in the same clinical unit. Current/recent experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (within the last 2 years) is required.  The Bundaberg Hospital is a teaching hospital of the University of Queensland Rural Clinical School.  Student placements occur throughout the year and medical staff is expected to work with the Clinical School in the education program.

Temporary Full Time (76 hours p.f.) from date of appointment for 12 months with the possibility of extension.

Our offer:

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $170,378 p.a., comprising salary between $125,808 - $145,865 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) and vocational training subsidy (L4-L9) (Temporary Full Time Position, 76 hours p.f., from date of appointment for 12 months with the possibility of extension) (Applications will remain current for 12 months).
