Your Opportunity: 

The position of Provisional Fellowship in Paediatric Anaesthesia (Senior Registrar Anaesthetics) will:

• Provide professional expertise and services within a tertiary setting as directed and required through the Department of Anaesthesia in the areas of clinical anaesthesia including after hours and on call duties. The aim is to ensure a high quality, safe and family centred care within CHQ HHS and for designated outreach to local locations where CHQ HHS patients may require anaesthesia for care / treatment (e.g. Radiation Oncology Mater Centre, Mater Mothers NICU, RBWH NICU, RBWH PET scan facility).
• The position of Fellow is for a post fellowship examination anaesthetist, a registrar in their final year of training having passed the ANZCA Part II exam or an experienced anaesthetic registrar of similar experience from a differing training programme, requiring further experience or training in the subspecialty area of paediatric anaesthesia.
• There are a number of 6-month and 12-month positions available commencing in both February and August 2026.
  
  

The anaesthesia positions will involve evening and weekend shifts and on call duties. Fellows will be expected to:

• Deliver medical services through participation in clinical duties at Fellow level and in accordance with the policies, practices and Values of the Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
• Demonstrate commitment to evidence-based practice, research and quality improvement activities, including undertaking clinical audits and clinical risk management activities.
• Assist in the professional development of junior medical staff and the training of medical and allied health students.
