Role Details
- Lead the design, performance and improvement of designated corporate governance functions to promote transparency, ensure accountability, optimise decision making and drive organisational maturity.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership and direction to build organisational capability, drive integrated governance and support CHQ HHS in meeting its strategic and operational objectives.
- Direct a multidisciplinary team that is highly regarded and responsive in supporting CHQ HHS staff to ensure:
- Application of good governance and embedment of a risk conscious culture.
- Consistency in approach across CHQ HHS with realisation of opportunities for knowledge sharing and, where appropriate, assimilation of corporate governance with clinical and research governance.
- Timely delivery of accurate, relevant and insightful advice and information that meets the needs of CHQ HHS key stakeholders and advocates for ethical and compliant decision making.
- Hold responsibility for corporate governance (as delegated) policies, frameworks and supporting artefacts. Provide leadership and direction to document custodians to ensure reflection of broader health system and government requirements and alignment with best practices such as ISO 37301:2021, SA/SNZ HB 168:2017, AS/NZS ISO 9001:2015 and AS/NZS ISO 31000:2018.
- Identify and explore opportunities to use technology and digital platforms to support the efficient and effective execution of corporate governance, as well as provide timely and valuable insights through analysis of organisational wide data and analytics.
- Use extensive experience and subject matter expertise to identify emerging issues, challenges and opportunities. Design, recommend and implement pragmatic and balanced solutions.
- Deliver briefings, presentations and reports to key stakeholders including CHQ HHS Executive, Audit and Risk Committee, Health Service Executive Committee and Board.
