Children's Health Queensland's Learning and Workforce Development Service are seeking a Clinical Practice Facilitator who plans, facilitates and evaluates learning opportunities in partnership with the relevant Nurse Educator. The Clinical Practice Facilitator provides advanced clinical care within a specialty area, supporting the functioning of the unit through the application of leadership, best practice teaching and learning strategies and education portfolio management.

About the Learning and Workforce Development Service
The Learning and Workforce Development Service provides education, research and workforce development support across the CHQ acute and community-based services and education support across the State of Queensland. In collaboration with the education teams in each clinical area, the Undergraduates (Student Placements) and Graduates Team facilitates nursing student clinical practice placements and provides support for new graduates as beginning level Registered Nurses as they complete their Transition to Practice Program.
About the Role
The role will involve working closely with the Nurse Educator to support organisational transition and ongoing practice development within all nursing roles at Childrens Health Queensland including:
- Undergraduates (Student Placements)
- Graduates
- Undergraduate Student in Nursing (USiN's)
- Nursing Cadets
In his role you will act as a professional role model for students and will be responsible for maintaining positive relationships with education provider partners to enhance students' learning experiences and facilitate formal and informal learning experiences of undergraduate nursing students in placement.
To assist the students to develop the knowledge, attributes and skills necessary to practice within the clinical environment, you will:
- Collaborate and work collegially with all stakeholders
- Collaborate with Clinical Practice Facilitators in each clinical area to ensure theoretical and clinical knowledge objectives of the placement can be met
- Support clinical teams to enable nursing students' clinical and professional skill development so that they are able to achieve the clinical learning objectives
- Conduct formative and summative performance assessments, providing timely and constructive verbal and written feedback
- Identify, document and escalate concerns about students' clinical performance to education providers
- Document all relevant information regarding incident reports or issues related to the clinical placement
- Complete and submit timesheets and placement attendance summaries (where applicable) following the completion of the placement.
