About the Team
The Queendland Children's Hospital Oncology Team Our team is dedicated to the care of our patients suffering from cancer and their families. Our medical officers and clinical team are most respected making our administration team proud to provide them with an efficient support service, all while maintaining the highest level of friendly, engaging and efficient customer service to our patients and their families.
About the Role
- Perform general reception and administration duties to support the daily operations of a busy ward environment whilst displaying a high level of customer service including:
- Greeting patients on arrival
- Admit, discharge and transfer patients when needed.
- Updating all patient demographics on patient's arrival as required.
- Checking appointments In and Out on ESM, being mindful to select the correct encounters.
- Schedule follow up appointments as instructed.
- Process discharge summaries.
- Manage incoming calls to the service area.
- Organise travel for patients and families.
- Process, receipt and track incoming and outgoing patient medical records accurately to ensure charts are accessible for timely continuity of patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality whilst accessing secure storage areas of the hospital to retrieve and deliver patient medical records to wards, clinics and other hospital departments.
- Comply with and adhere to Queensland Health policies, procedures, standards and legislation relevant to the role of the work area.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Process high volume discharge summaries and booking of OPD appointments on discharge.
- Organise travel for patients and families.
