About the Team
CHQ Pharmacy is dedicated to providing and supporting high quality clinical and medication management services to the children and young people of CHQ. The pharmacy service has a staff of approximately 110, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, administrative staff and support staff. The pharmacy team provides services to inpatients, outpatients, hospital in the home, cancer care services, poisons information, aseptic compounding, clinical trials along with safety, quality and governance.
About the Role
- Deliver high level clinical pharmacy services within a variety of complex critical care caseloads in an acute hospital setting; predominantly to patients admitted to hospital but may also include provision of services in outpatient pharmacy clinics.
- Exercise independent judgement and problem-solving skills, in matters beyond routine practice, using valid and reliable evidence, with infrequent clinical practice supervision.
- Provide high level advice and support to the multidisciplinary team, and clients.
- Actively participate in initiating, developing and implementing service improvement activities to enhance the delivery of clinical pharmacy services and multidisciplinary care. This will include initiation of research and quality improvement activities, and contribution to development of guidelines, procedures and protocols to support the continuum of care.
- Guide, mentor and supervise less experienced pharmacy practitioners, support staff, and provide education to work experience or observational pharmacy students.
- Register, maintain and prepare records of patient interaction as well as workload measurement statistics, to facilitate the analysis of service trends.
- Participate in and contribute to workforce planning to meet service requirements.
