This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the paediatric sleep science team at the Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH). QCH is the single specialist children's hospital for the state, providing children’s clinical, educational and support services at Clinical Services Capability Framework (CSCF) Level 6 for children and young people from birth to 16 years of age (and up to 18 years for established paediatric patients.

About the Team

The QCH provides the only Tertiary Hospital Paediatric Sleep Unit in Queensland, for patients from all over Queensland, as well as northern New South Wales (NSW) and the Pacific Rim.

About the Role

In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:

  • Deliver evidence-based paediatric sleep clinical services in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
  • Utilise professional judgement to solve non-routine clinical and technical problems within the paediatric sleep unit.
  • Coordinate overnight monitoring in inpatient and outpatient settings. 
  • Identify and apply appropriate policies and assist in implementation of improvements in sleep diagnostic monitoring.
  • Contribute to the professional development of other health professionals commensurate with level of own knowledge and experience in Sleep Science.
  • Participate in paediatric respiratory and sleep research relevant to the aims of the CHQ HHS Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Service.
  • Commitment and contribution to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health equity reform, to Close the Gap by 2033, as underpinned by the CHQ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Equity Strategy 2022 – 2025.
