As the food Service Officer, you will undertake designated duties under the supervision of the Catering Supervisor or Chef Supervisor within the scope of Food Services responsibilities ensuring an effective and efficient standard of work. You will undertake a range of activities to assist in the provision of a 7 day per week, efficient and effective food services to the patients and families of Children’s Health Queensland. We offer work flexibility across the 7 days per week.

About the Role

In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:

  • Assist with the production of sandwich and cold food items as well as the preparation, plating, ordering and distribution of patient meals and mid meal beverage service as directed. The ability to interpret patient diet list for ward services, and ensure tasks are performed in accordance with approved procedures and quality requirements. 
  • Undertake general kitchen duties including but not limited to operation of a buffet cart, flight through dishwasher, patient tray stripping, pot wash duties, pushing trolleys, stock rotation and management, and undertake general cleaning as directed, ensuring tasks are performed in accordance with approved procedures. 
  • Deliver professional customer service, respond to customer requests in a timely manner & ensure complaints are dealt with satisfactorily, or passed to the appropriate Manager.
