Clinical Nurse Consultant Vascular Haematology

About the Team
The Haematology and Haemophilia Group /Service is part of the Queensland Paediatric Palliative care and Haematology and Oncology Network (QPPHON) which provides clinical leadership, multidisciplinary expertise and consultancy to state-wide clinicians.
The Haematology & Haemophilia Group /Service is a state-wide service which provides tertiary Level 6 inpatient and ambulatory care of children with non-malignant blood disorders, Haemophilia, inherited bleeding disorders and vascular medicine . The service provides care to patients with haemoglobinopathies receiving both chronic transfusions, patients with thrombotic disorders with anticoagulation management of non-Cardiology patients and other varied conditions. The service has a collaborative team of medical, nursing and allied health staff to provide comprehensive care to acute and chronic patients as well as advocacy and co-ordination of complex care.
About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of Vascular Haematology Medicine. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the Nurse Practitioner and the wider haematology team to support the clinical unit in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of Vascular Haematology Medicine.

- Advanced level of autonomous clinical and professional practice.
- Advanced level of decision making in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Undertake operational leadership.
- Work collectively to apply the principals of clinical governance.
- Apply professional and clinical expertise in collaboration with nursing and multi-disciplinary stakeholders.
- Responsible for enacting strategies that support a work-based culture that promotes and supports education, learning, research and workforce development.
- Participate in research and quality assurance programs in areas relevant to Paediatric Oncology & Haematology.
