Nutrition Assistant

• Contribute to patient care by providing clinical support services delegated by and under the supervision of the Nutrition Assistant Team Leader and Dietitian Clinical Lead • The Nutrition Assistant will undertake a range of activities to assist in the provision of a 7 day per week, efficient and effective Dietetics and Food Service to the patients and families of Children’s Health Queensland. • Work flexibility with availability 7 days per week • Effective communication skills that enable the development of improved service delivery outcomes and effective relationships with staff, patients and other key stakeholders.

About the Role
Clinical Support Practice
- Ability to show initiative and work flexibly with sound knowledge of the major clinical support activities performed within the clinical area of the Department of Dietetics and Food Services.
- Ability to acquire and apply knowledge in dietetics and food services, such as knowledge of the health care system, nutritional formulas and supplements, enteral feeding, basic medical terminology and basic nutrition requirements for hospital inpatients.
Communication
- Effective communication skills that enable the development of improved service delivery outcomes and effective relationships with staff, patients and other key stakeholders.
Team Participation/Service Improvement
- Ability to contribute positively to the nutrition support services clinical team by supporting and contributing to service improvement activities.
