About the Role
- Co-ordinate and monitor the execution and completion of CHQ HHS audit activities in alignment with policy and legislative requirements.
- Provide sound professional advice to:
- the Audit and Risk Committee to assist with fulfilling its obligations as set out in its Charter, and
- the Health Service Chief Executive, Executive Leadership Team and senior management including recommendations on risks and controls which will form the basis for improved monitoring, development and delivery of services across CHQ HHS.
- Establish, co-ordinate and maintain relationships with external audit provider/s.
- Oversee contractual arrangements and quality assurance programs with external audit provider/s to ensure on-time and in-budget delivery of high-quality audit reports in accordance with CHQ HHS's audit program.
- Coordinate, monitor and report on progress against open audit recommendations and management action plans (including assessing information provided internally) ensuring a risk-based approach to organisational action and delivery.
- Maintain a knowledge base of emerging risks, proactively identify innovative solutions and partner with key stakeholders to support successful delivery of business process improvement.
- Partner with key internal stakeholders, through working collaboratively with members of other subject matter experts and multidisciplinary teams, to fulfil an integral role in developing/defining, implementing, maintaining and improving CHQs internal controls framework (including adequate policy, process, systems) to drive organisational efficiency and integrated governance.
- Effectively lead and manage ad hoc projects as required which focus on mitigating risk and control weaknesses and improving performance in potential high-risk areas including systemic business improvement, regulatory compliance, internal and external reporting requirements, service and support service delivery.
- Contribute to the identification and exploration of opportunities to use technology and digital platforms to support the efficient and effective execution of internal audit functions, as well as provide timely and valuable insights through analysis of organisational wide data and analytics.
- Liaise directly with other government agencies e.g. Queensland Audit Office, other Health Services and with CHQ HHS audit partner/s on audit related matters.
