Deputy Director of Audiology

Be recognised and utilised as a state-wide expert in developing, implementing and evaluating evidence-based audiology policies, procedures, standards and support systems and resolving complex challenges, with expert level knowledge and skills relating to paediatric audiology. About the Team
The Audiology Department at Children's Health Queensland (CHQ) provides specialised diagnostic services for children with hearing concerns, including behavioural and electrophysiological assessments for both inpatients and outpatients.
About the Role
- Assist the Director Audiology to provide strategic direction and management for the Audiology Department at CHQHHS.
- Provide active leadership to paediatric audiology services within CHQ HHS and state-wide in the development, implementation, and evaluation of workforce and service improvement activities.
- Provide expert level authoritative counsel and leadership and advocacy, within CHQ HHS and state-wide, in matters relating to paediatric audiology.
- Under the direction of the Director Audiology, lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Audiology Governance Framework.
- Support the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the education framework for Audiologists across CHQ HHS and statewide.
- Lead initiatives (including state-wide) which influence and impact on consistent and sustainable models of care and service delivery.
- Build capacity and capability of the workforce.
- Manage profession specific patient flow across the continuum of care to best meet the needs of patients and families.
- Assist the director to provide operational management within the Audiology Department.
- Provide backfill for the Director Audiology role when required and relevant.
- Provision of expert level, high quality clinical services within the Queensland Children's Hospital in the area of audiology governance and paediatric Audiology practice.
