Paediatric Oncology Research Fellow

The position of Paediatric Oncology Research Scholarship Fellow provides an opportunity for interested Advanced Trainee or early career holder of an RACP in Paediatric Oncology to partake in dedicated research activities affiliated to the Oncology Service as well as pursue a higher degree. The Oncology Research Scholarship Fellow will be integrated into the Oncology Service with the potential to share on call and clinical duties (maximum of 1 day per week for a full-time position) with otherwise protected time to conduct research activity.

About the Team
The Oncology Services Group includes the Oncology Service, Blood and Marrow Transplant Service, Haematology Service and the Paediatric Palliative Care Service. The Oncology Service has dedicated consultant teams focusing on Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Bone Marrow Transplant; Solid Tumours and Neuro-oncology; Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care and non-malignant Haematology. Consultant medical staff are supported by junior and middle-grade medical staff, including specialist training fellows in paediatric oncology.
About the Role
- Primarily undertake research or evidence-based practice and quality improvement activities, which demonstrate an appropriate research plan that has been approved and developed in consultation with an identified supervisor or supervisors, including a Senior Medical Officer of the Oncology Service Group at Children's Health Queensland.
- And/or participate in the ZERO Childhood Cancer Research Study as a Precision Medicine Fellow
- Where agreed, deliver medical services through participation in clinical duties at Fellow level and in accordance with the policies, practices and Values of the Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
- Assist in the professional development of junior medical staff and the training of medical, nursing and allied health students.
