Clinical Nurse Consultant - Respiratory


Division of Medicine, Queensland Children's Hospital, South Brisbane

The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of Respiratory. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Educator and wider health care team support the clinical unit in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of Respiratory.

About the Team

Respiratory patients have complex chronic disease profiles with concomitant and often significant psychological dysfunction, social and racial disadvantage. The respiratory service provides inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory care including telephone support with and liaison with regional and rural GP's, Paediatrician's and nursing staff. The Respiratory service also provides support to other stakeholders including connected care, CHQ at Home and works collaboratively with all other services within QCH.

About the Role

In this role you will coach and support others to deliver for children, young people and families (Leader of Others) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values.

You'll fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award - State 2015 - Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 7 and the Queensland Health and Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CHQHHS) commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
