Senior Psychologist

As the Senior Psychologist, your role will be responsible for delivering high level clinical psychology services for children and their families as part of the Statewide Child Sexual Abuse Response within the Child Protection and Forensic Medical Services Unit as a member of the multidisciplinary team within a tertiary paediatric hospital. You will also ensure to build capacity and capability in child protection services across the state while also contribute to and collaborate with the existing project team to achieve key deliverables in the Project. About the Team

The CPFMS Team provides a multi-disciplinary tertiary referral hospital service for the consultation and management of suspected child abuse and neglect, as part of a statewide clinical leadership role in education, training and research and is based at Queensland Children's Hospital (QCH) and has services at Redlands Hospital and Inala Community Centre.

Children's Health Queensland has been funded to set up and provide the Statewide Child Sexual Abuse Response. The service will ensure trauma-informed, streamlined, and timely service delivery statewide and provide ongoing consultation, education, and formalised peer review for regional, rural and remote sites around Queensland. The service will align with the newly developed Sexual Assault Services Framework (the Framework), for children under 14 years

About the Role

In this role you will coach and support others to deliver for children, young people and families (Leader of Others) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:

Clinical Practice

  • Deliver high level clinical services in accordance with the Australian Psychological Society (APS) Code of Ethics and the practice guidelines of the Psychology Board of Australia. This includes:
  • Provision of high-level of clinical expertise, assessment and intervention techniques and professional judgement to a caseload of complex clients and provide clinical direction and advice to support evidence based clinical decision making and quality patient care.
