Executive Director People and Culture

Children's Health Queensland (CHQ) is seeking an Executive Director People and Culture (EDP&C) to serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). This leadership role is responsible for the strategic direction and management of all People and Culture services, ensuring their capacity to achieve the highest organisational standards. The EDP&C will work closely with the Health Service Chief Executive (HSCE) and other ELT members to align CHQ's workforce, industrial relations, safety, and legal functions with the organisation's goals.

About the Opportunity
The Executive Director People and Culture (EDP&C) will work collaboratively with the Health Service Chief Executive (HSCE), other Executive Leadership Team (ELT) members and various leaders across CHQ. The position of Executive Director People and Culture will:
- Provide leadership and management of all people and culture services.
- Lead Children's Health Queensland's (CHQ) people (workforce) strategies and services, organisational culture, and legal functions.
- Align CHQ's people and culture functions with the organisations goals to ensure the strategic and tactical workforce, industrial relations and safety activities meet both current and future organisational requirements.
- Lead the provision of high quality, reliable, well evidenced and solution orientated business partnering, advisory and support services that effectively facilitate the implementation of strategic and operational business objectives and initiatives across the organisation.
- Provide leadership for the development and implementation of contemporary systems and processes to support the effective and timely delivery of CHQ's workforce and legal services.
About the Role
- Build collaborative relationships with executive peers and drive a culture of integration and leadership that is aligned to CHQs strategy, brand and values.
- Actively drive and support a working environment and culture that supports quality human resource management practices including ethical behaviour, leadership, anti-discrimination and workplace health, safety and wellbeing.
- Advocate and promote the use of a risk management approach to proactively identify and mitigate emerging issues or risks at all levels to optimise CHQ's ability to execute its strategy and successfully achieve operational safety, efficiency and effectiveness.
- Facilitate the provision of independent and professional legal advice to the HSCE, ELT and CHQ leaders, keeping them informed of complex issues and related risks or opportunities.
- Build effective relationships with key external stakeholders to enhance CHQ's credibility and reputation as a health service leader in the provision of safe and high-quality person-centred care.
- Develop workforce planning strategies in response to changes in the delivery of Paediatric health services and the changing demographics of the workforce.
- Work closely with the business to lead the strategic review, planning and transformation of the workforce model, further supporting an engaged and motivated workforce.
- Plan and provide executive leadership to the implementation of multiple, complex and integrated people change initiatives to improve outcomes for key stakeholders and to build a shared sense of direction and culture of service and performance.
- Analyse workforce metrics and influence executive and senior decision makers to understand and use these to improve the quality of business decisions and outcomes.
