Occupational Therapist Senior (Medical)

As the Occupational Therapist Senior (Medical) you will deliver high level, evidence based, tertiary occupational therapy services to patients across the continuum of care (acute, sub-acute and ambulatory setting) within the medical stream with specific emphasis on the provision of services within the specialist clinical areas of oncology, cystic fibrosis, palliative care, rheumatology, general medical triage, mock MRI and feeding.

About the Team
As part of the Allied Health team our tertiary paediatric acute occupational therapy service provides high level care, based on evidence-based practice and international standards of care. Advanced clinicians are available in all occupational therapy teams, whilst supervision and governance are underpinned by National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards. Subspecialty teams provide patient centred management to develop programs specifically individualised to the child and family's unique needs that can be delivered as outpatients, day patients, inpatients, or via telehealth.
About the Role
In this role you will coach and support others to deliver for children, young people and families (Leader of Others) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:
Clinical Practice
- Deliver high level occupational therapy clinical services within the medical stream (oncology. haematology, respiratory, palliative care, renal and feeding) in an acute hospital, rehabilitation or community setting in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, with minimal direct clinical supervision.
- Exercise independent judgement and problem-solving skills, in matters beyond routine practice with infrequent clinical practice supervision.
